Questions
The fine print, in plain words.
- What is a credit?
- Your weekly AI allowance is counted in credits. Every AI action draws from it according to the work it actually took — a short rewrite takes a little, a whole-book scan takes more. Before a big scan, the desk tells you what it will use.
- When does the allowance refill?
- Every week. You pay monthly; the allowance resets weekly, and unused credits don't roll over.
- What happens when I run out?
- The AI pauses until the allowance refills. Writing doesn't — the desk keeps working exactly as before.
- Where does Desk keep my books?
- In this browser, on this device. Your books are never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser's site data deletes them, so export often. Move to a paid plan and your books sync up from the device you wrote them on.
- Is my writing used to train AI?
- No. Not on any plan, ever.
